Sebastian Geiger one of the 72 new fellows elected to the Royal Academy of Engineering!

Nov 17, 2022

We would like to extend our congratulations to Professor Sebastian Geiger, Energi Simulation Research Chair in Sustainable Geoenergy at the Delft University of Technology, who this autumn was one of the 72 new fellows that were elected to the Royal Academy of Engineering! At the formal induction ceremony, Sebastian had the opportunity to sign the fellowship book and subscribe to the obligations of the academy before receiving his scroll from Her Royal Highness Princess Anne at the induction ceremony at Draper’s Hall in London.

The Royal Academy of Engineering in the United Kingdom is a charity that delivers public benefit by bringing together an unrivalled community of leaders across all engineering disciplines. Each year, the academy elects up to 60 fellows, ten international fellows, and five honorary fellows in recognition of their outstanding and continuing contributions to engineering. These fellows are core to the academy’s mission to use the power of engineering to build a sustainable society and create an inclusive economy that works for everyone. New fellows are nominated by two existing fellows of the academy and this nomination undergoes a year-long, rigorous review process.
